We were very pleased with the process (even with the unexpected challenges of going through a remodel during a pandemic), and we love the results. Ted and his whole team are conscientious, professional, and pleasant. Their top concern was always that we were pleased, and if something ever needed to be corrected it was done so quickly. We particularly liked the fact that Ted partners with a wonderful interior designer. Due to the scope of our project, we opted to utilize this service. The collaboration between the entire team was a real benefit and ensured the best results possible.

Ted and Mack are fantastic people – hands down the best contractors my wife and I have worked with over the years. They completed a four-month renovation of the lower level walkout of our home in Ada. From the design phase in partnership with their contracted designer, Kristie Koning (who’s also a rockstar btw!), to the actual construction, Ted, Mack, and the entire crew were phenomenal. They are true craftsman, providing significant attention to detail and quality. We really enjoyed the collaborative nature of the relationship. They would listen to our ideas and we’d work together to find the optimal solution or design that would fit our budget and desired end result. Lastly, the communication and timeliness of Ted, Mack, and their subs was impeccable. You hear horror stories of contractors deprioritizing projects or taking on too much – this was not that case. I could always get a hold of Ted and/or Mack immediately or within a few hours of contacting them, and they were always on the job on time with minimal disruption to our overall schedule! I’d hire PCR again in a heartbeat!

Description of work: Full Basement Renovation and Remodel

Project: Install new bathroom and partially remodel two bedrooms

Ted and his two sons are very professional and nice guys to work with. Very thorough and were careful to clean up after work each day to try to minimize dust, as I am allergic to it. Ted has a good “eye” for design and we trust his opinions. His contract service people, electrical/plumbing/tile were also first rate. They were also willing to do some minor odd jobs in the house during the construction of the bathroom.

His final price came in close to his original estimate except for some additional costs due to changes and add-ons that we chose to have done during construction. I plan to use Ted for my future house projects as we are extremely satisfied with his work.

Project: Bathroom Remodel

Perkins Custom Remodeling remodeled our bathroom, which hadn’t been worked on in well over 20 years. It is an old house, built approximately in the 1920s. Part of the subflooring was rotting and was replaced, the plaster and lath walls and ceiling were repaired/replaced, a new tub and new tub surround was installed, as was a new sink and vanity. New tile flooring, a new medicine cabinet, and a light fixture were also installed. Wainscoting was also added to the walls. Two doors were replaced. One of the doors needed re-framing, as a bigger tub was added. Bulkhead over the tub was removed and a new wall was built. Plumbing was relocated and installed.

It went very well and was completed in the time frame given us. Ted Perkins had a good grasp of what we wanted done and always communicated very well with us whenever questions arose. He went out of his way to make sure the work was done just as we wanted. The quality of the work was excellent and he used quality materials throughout.

With major renovation going on in the bathroom he was careful to minimize dust and dirt by covering floors and furniture and cleaning up frequently. He always kept us informed about what he was working on, when things would be done, and who would be here and when. When a problem arose he dealt with it immediately: A slightly leaky drainpipe was taken care of quickly.

Ted and his crew were friendly, trustworthy and easy to work with, as well as considerate of us and our home. We opted to do the painting ourselves and he was helpful in answering questions about the best way to do that – he even did some of the prep for that and even showed me how some calking was done and with what product. He takes pride in his work and has high standards for his crew. He wants his customers to be pleased with his work. We now have a lovely bathroom! Thank you, Ted & Crew!

Project: Master Bath Upgrade

The project went well and I am very happy with the completed work. Ted was good at checking in while work was being done and to be sure all was progressing to my satisfaction. Everyone was very respectful and I was able to work from home while the remodeling was being done. The crew was really patient with our dog, who tends to bark every time someone comes in and out of our home. I do recommend Perkins Remodeling to others and plan to use their services again in the future.
